About Alien Imaging
Alien Imaging - a boutique Radio Sound Design service was launched in 2002 by 15 year San Francisco Radio Creative Director Jeff Schmidt.
The goal was to create radio production FX sounds that rivaled the high priced libraries - for a fraction of the price.
I really just wanted sounds that no one else had. The easiest way was to make them myself.
That was the reason for Jeff’s first foray into production element creation.
The effort resulted in the ORGANISM 3 FX Library. The first Alien Imaging FX package .
ORGANISM 3 originally sold as a Market Exclusive CD for $300 – and within months was on the air in 8 of the Top 10 U.S. and Canadian Markets including NY, LA and Toronto.
Each new library Jeff has created has been born first out of his own need for new sounds.
I create when I want new sounds. Then I field test all my new material on my own radio stations. If they cut though – I use them and then sell them as Alien Imaging Libraries.
An accomplished Sound Designer - Jeff also creates custom Sound for Video Games and Film, including World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm and others.
He’s also a kick-ass bassist and composer.
Of course – then there’s radio.
Jeff’s been a Radio Creative Director in San Francisco for 15 years. Some of his Creative work can be heard on Schmidtz Bitz
With the birth of the world wide web – and digital delivery of sound – Alien Imaging gained a global reputation early on and now has as many customers in markets beyond the U.S. as inside.
To date – Alien Imaging libraries are in use at hundreds of radio, tv and indie producer studios the world over including several mid-east and far east stations.
And of course – including every major market in the United States and Canada. Being a one-man, boutique shop enables Jeff to respond quickly to customer requests.
I’ve always put my name on the work – and I always respond to customer requests personally and promptly.
